Moving to Blogspot

I’ve moved to Blogspot!

Tumblr just isn’t the right blogging site for what I want to do, so I will now just be posting on http://savingsavvysusy.blogspot.com/

Follow me there if you want/care.

I found this classic pair of red flats at one of my favorite stores, Target, for $4.48. I was actually on the hunt for black flats, but I couldn’t find any good, affordable ones that day so I bought these instead! I’ve always wanted to own a pair of red shoes, whether they’re high heels, Keds sneakers, or flats… and now I own a pair.

I’ve become obsessed with Pinterest! One of the joys I find on Pinterest, besides the obvious (fashion inspiration everywhere), is the humor section. Many of the pins in the humor category are from http://www.someecards.com/. They make me LOL. I’ve included one of these ecards, featuring Target!

Who says fashion has to make a dent in your wallet? I certainly don’t.

Hello everyone!
What kind of weirdo wishes to need glasses? This weirdo! I love the way I look in glasses. Unfortunately, I was apparently blessed with good eyesight, as of yet in my life. So, you all would understand my excitement when fake, hipster glasses became all the rage in the fashion world.
I found this pair at Rue 21 for (drumroll please…) $2.99! They’re the perfect price and in my favorite color.

Hi all!

One of my all time FAVORITE stores is Rue 21. Once you’ve reached the clearance section, you’ve pretty much won the lottery. Every single time I walk into that store, I walk out with AT LEAST one great purchase… It’s like magic!

Today’s post features a dress I purchased from Rue 21 at the beginning of this summer. Guess how much it was? FOUR DOLLARS (cough cough plus tax cough… but let’s just ignore that) I wish I had curvier hips to fill in the dress, but I still couldn’t resist the purchase… the price was screaming for me to buy it!

Words of Advice…

While checking my email, I thought of the first tip I will offer…

Sign up for e-mail alerts from your favorite stores. It is a great way to receive coupons and find out about the latest sales and promotions.

Whenever I plan for a day of shopping, I always make sure to check my e-mail to see if there are any coupons I can print out and use for the day.

Introducing… A Blogging Newbie

Hi all!

This past weekend I did a lot of shopping and found some amazing deals! While taking inventory of the new additions to my wardrobe, I started having thoughts about starting a blog featuring all the great deals I encounter on my shopping trips.

Let me introduce myself, briefly…

My name is Susy. I am going to be a junior Fashion Design student in the fall. I grew up with 2 Asian FOB (fresh of the boat… otherwise known as immigrant) parents. I admire my parents so much. They came to America not knowing much English, if any at all, and over the past 2 decades or so, they successfully made a life and raised a family here. They practically started with nothing after flying halfway across the world. They lived with various family members, until my great grandma generously offered them her house… a place I love calling my first home. Anyways, the point is… because of the hardships they faced in this world, I was raised to value every penny offered to me, whether it is received from someone else or earned by myself.

It’s SHOCKING to have the memory of hating shopping when I was little. I used to always complain to my mom that she’s taking too long or cry when she abandoned the cart with me in it to take a quick look at something that caught her eye. Now… it’s a very, VERY different story. I could shop all day everyday… if only I had the money to do that. Which brings me to the inspiration of the start of this blog… I am an AMAZING clearance shopper!

If finding great deals is a talent, then I should be entering shows and winning prizes. When I was around the young age of 13, I used to be jealous of all my friends who went shopping with their parents and got everything they wanted, even if it was a t-shirt that cost $25! My shopping experiences were different… my mom would usually say “No” to things that weren’t on sale. She would say things like, “Wait until it does go on sale.” and I hated when she said that because it meant I would never see that item again. Now… I am so grateful I was raised like that, because otherwise, I wouldn’t have discovered this “talent” of mine. Whenever people compliment me on my clothes, I like to tell them how much everything is… and the price usually stuns them.

I am here to show off the great, and of course, inexpensive finds in my closet, and hopefully share some helpful advice for any shopper on a budget.
